A WORLD-CLASS PERIOD INSTRUMENT ENSEMBLE FOR OXFORD
Inspired by the name of a 1757 Handel oratorio, Instruments of Time and Truth is a new period instrument ensemble, which aims to present world-class performances of baroque and classical music in Oxford and the surrounding region. Every season we programme an exciting series of self-promoted concerts in the City's historic venues while also being an employable resource for Oxford's thriving musical community
The ensemble is a showcase for the exceptional talents of international period musicians already resident in and around Oxford, who hold Principal positions with established groups such as the Academy of Ancient Music, the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, and the English Baroque Soloists.
FOUNDER-MEMBERS WITH VISION
The orchestra is run by its two founder-members on a voluntary basis, and an administrator, thus minimising management costs and creating a uniquely affordable ensemble available to all: college or amateur choirs; institutions or schools wanting an education programme; entrepreneurs or philanthropists. INVESTING IN OUR COMMUNITY
We feel privileged to live in Oxford. We believe it is worth investing in our community and that we can encourage reciprocal investment from the community. By uniting the elements available to us – the talents, the expertise, the concert venues and the audience – Instruments of Time and Truth will enhance the life of our city.
