A gift for the future of music in Oxford

Since 2014, Instruments of Time & Truth has given Oxford a period orchestra it can call its own. We receive no public funding, and even a sold-out concert does not cover the cost of putting it on. The generosity of our supporters is what keeps the music playing.

A gift in your will, of any size, is one of the most lasting ways to support that work. It can help us bring rarely heard masterpieces back to life, give young musicians their first experience of period instruments, and keep our concerts within reach of everyone.

Ways to give

Types of gift

A share of your estate

A residuary gift is a share, or all, of what remains once other gifts and costs are paid. Because it is a proportion, it keeps its value over time.

A fixed sum

A pecuniary gift is a specific amount of money. You may wish to review it from time to time so that it keeps pace with inflation.

A specific item

You might leave an instrument, a collection of music or another possession. Please talk to us first so that we can make sure it is put to good use.

Practical information

Making or updating your will

We recommend that you use a solicitor or other qualified adviser when making or changing your will. To include a gift to IT&T, they will need our details:

Charity name
Instruments of Time and Truth
Registered charity number
1159371 (England and Wales)
Address
18 Dunstan Road, Oxford OX3 9BY

Gifts to UK charities are normally free of Inheritance Tax, and leaving at least ten per cent of your net estate to charity can reduce the rate of tax on the rest. Your adviser can explain how this applies to you.

Tell us, if you wish

You do not have to tell us that you have remembered IT&T in your will. If you are happy to, it lets us thank you, keep you in touch with the work your gift will support and discuss any wishes you have for how it is used.

Everything you tell us is treated in confidence, and you are free to change your mind at any time.

To talk about leaving a gift, please contact our General Manager, Benjamin Ashby, at info@timeandtruth.co.uk.
